Your hands, feet and ears contain pressure points which correspond directly to specific systems and organs of the body.  In Reflexology, your body is divided into 10 zones, 5 per side.  These zones correspond to specific areas of your body. The zones on the right foot correspond to the organs and systems on the right side of your body, and likewise on the left. Reflexology involves the specific application of pressure in precise areas of the feet, hands and ears in order to transfer energy and stimulation to the corresponding areas of the body. 

Reflexology differs from foot massage in that it involves the precise application of pressure, as opposed to the systematic and rhythmic movement of massage.
